There are many divorce court television shows on making individuals think they know the court process inside and out. However, you'd be surprised to learn what's there just for show. Emotional Outbursts

It is important to note that there is a lot of drama allowed in the divorce courts on television. This type of drama is allowed because the producers want high rankings. Without this drama, what else could entice you to tune in again and again? On the other hand, when it comes to a traditional divorce case, the emotional outbursts you're used to seeing on television is not allowed and the person may be escorted out of the courtroom.

Also, the added banter that goes back and forth between the judge and the couple is not only highly discouraged, but completely not allowed. The judge will set the behavior expectations, and will keep it all the way through the proceedings. If there is too much disruption, the couple may find themselves in jail for contempt of court. Lawyers are Actually Present

On television, each person represents themselves and most or all of the traditional court decorum is completely thrown out. There are no lawyers in the court at all, only the judge and the couple.  However, you should be aware that when watching divorce court, these are all simple and minor cases, just amplified with meaningless drama.
